Arlington Heights-based home care agency For Papa’s Sake Home Care has always been focused on the community. When the family-owned agency moved to downtown Arlington Heights 2 years ago, their mission was to connect and be better embedded in the community. For the 3rd consecutive year, For Papa’s Sake teamed up with another local organization, Family Forward (formerly Faith Community Homes) to collect gift cards for their families.
“So many of these families are just trying to get back on their feet and create a better life for their children. By providing gift cards around the holidays, it enables these parents to personally shop for their children and pick out their gifts. Without these gift cards, they wouldn’t have this opportunity on their own. Every parent wants to make this an enchanted time of year for their kids – we get to be part of that and it’s absolutely magical.” Says For Papa’s Sake’s Executive Director, Becky Reel.
To ensure this was an extra special holiday season, For Papa’s Sake Home Care matched every gift card donation dollar-for-dollar in cash. This year, the Arlington Heights community raised $5,635 in gift cards. With the cash-match from For Papa’s Sake, the total donation of $11,270. The additional cash donation will help support Family Forward’s mission to assist with apartment rental, coaching from professional case managers, and trained volunteer mentors. For Papa’s Sake is honored to take part in helping parents build stable, secure households for their families.
